Um, two things..............

1 - This was in one of the Chicago rags yesterday:

Chicago's tough-guy persona took a beating this month when Combos, the snack food shaped like a fire log, rated the City of Big Shoulders the 46th manliest out of 50 U.S. cities based on factors such as number of NASCAR enthusiasts, barbecue restaurants, monster truck rallies and sports bars.

Um, are you fucking kidding me? Hey Combos, I am sure I can find a bunch of Chicagoans who strongly disagree and would shove some of your food products (and actual fire logs) where the sun does not shine - see if THAT takes so inviting, bitches......

2 - Across the river from where I work, a man jumped from the 28th floor of a building. Buzz filled the office about 30 minutes after it happened. Against all better judgment, I went to look. It looked like a movie set. But what puzzled me was this - how bad do things have to get when you hurl yourself off a building??? I am not trying to make light of this, and my condolensces to the family, but I just don't get it.......

But then again, what do I know..............(I think this is my new tag line)

Scratch THAT Off My List and Other Ravings

Why hello there.

Yes, I haven't been posting much. I've been busy slash distant slash tired slash sick.

Not that anybody's posting anyway.......

...and before I get "reamed again" about THAT topic, I'll just tell the reamer to SHUT IT......

In any event, here's some rambling:

- Decided it would be fun to try and do my show with some stomach discomfort. And when I say stomach discomfort, I mean being able to possibly vomit at any time. I got through the show with the help of my WONDERFUL castmates. I don't know how, but I did. I've seen people do that before - sick as hell and doing a show - and I never wanted to be able to say "that happened to me". Lucky me. Now I can.

- Sunday is the 11th anniversary of my coming out. I love that is coincides with my Grandma Thelma's birthday.

- I've been ridiculously nostalgic lately. And it makes me feel old. But with the passing of a HS buddy and some HORRIFYING pictures being posted on Facebook from the HS days, I don't think I can avoid it. It's crazy to me that I was ever that young. Or thin. Or with that much hair. Or thin.

- Our boy Barack has hit 50 days as President. Some very interesting stuff, my man. Way to mix it up..........

- So, the ex-girlfriend is on Facebook. We have corresponded via email over the last couple of years. But we have never had (dramatic techno stinger) "the talk". I have to believe she's nosed around my profile too. I'm going through a dilemma with it - I like her, she was always a good friend, but how will she deal with the "news"? Or will she even care - or better/worse yet, does she already know? I don't know why I should care so much about it.....but I do. This was a gal I thought about marrying........and THAT is weird to say.

Ah well, there we have it...............
