OSCAR OSCAR!!!

Oh my goodness, feeling SOOOOOO much better. Man, I hate being sick.....

So I watched the Oscars on Sunday. Sober. And I never want to do that again.

My thoughts:

PRESHOW - Hey Tim Gunn, did you really have to look at the teleprompter to say thank you to your guests.....you know, the ones standing right next to you????? I love the man, don't get me wrong, but that was just silly.......

5 for 5 - Oh Lord, when they started to present the Best Supporting Actress award and I saw how it was going to be for all the other acting awards, I wanted to throw my drink (water) at the screen. Give the actors praise, sure.....JUST DO IT QUICKER!

ATTITUDE - Oh Sweet Mother of Italy, Sophia Loren had SO MUCH ATTITUDE. That stance (hand on hip, looking like she might smell something funny) slayed me! But, dammit, does she look good for a woman of 75.

HOST - I thought Hugh did fine. That opening number was pretty goddamned funny.

MEMORIUM - Say what you will, I think Queen Latifah singing during the tribute was fine. It's the applause that always drives me crazy about that moment.

MUSICAL MEDLEY - In the middle of the show. Adding more time. Completely pointless.

I should say something about the dresses.....but except for Miley Cyrus, I think everyone kinda pulled it off.

I am a firm believer that the Oscars can be done in 3 hours. Can I try, please? ;)

Retro Video #8

I have been recovering from a sinus infection and some respiratory bullshit that made my voice virtually invisible last Sunday. Thank God for good drugs and rest. I'm on the mend and feeling MUCH MUCH better.

In the meantime, here is a video from one of my favorite bands of the 80's....and a thankful nod to my wonderful doctor!

Fighting SOMETHING.....which isn't good when you are opening a show......oh well, I guess it keeps things interesting.

As for this week's video, it is an obvious choice for Valentine's Day (aka Black Saturday).

Yeah, I'm bitter about it. Deal with it. ;)

Well, THAT Didn't Suck

So the new show has two previews under its belt. Now had you asked me Saturday morning, I would have gone on about how I've done many previews and some were better than others. I swore on this one we weren't ready. Except for a longer-than-expected run time, we were indeed ready. Fine tune over the next week, have a couple more previews, and bam, we will be ready for opening.

So after a long weekend, I'm exhausted and ready for bed. At 9:14. And I think I'm going to do it.

As I woke up this morning thinking:
