I caught a bit of the Frontline report on Katrina one year later last night. VERY interesting piece - Frontline is quite a well done show. But what amazed me the most was Michael Brown. Sure, he made his share of mistakes during the disaster. And like most people, I am to believe (through the media) that he is an incompetent, blundering doofus. The man is well spoken. To not make light of the situation, if you watch enough of the show, you will see he may just have done all he could with what he was given. Yes, it all just sucks, and I am not here to praise the rescue relief - THAT was horrible. I heard a sound byte this morning where Bush admitted some form of responsibility for the mess. Gee George, how white of you.....ya tool.

I am to understand some newswoman went to the bathroom with her mic still on. This was during a Bush speech. She refers to her sister in law as a "contol freak". Clearly, someone screwed up and didn't turn off her mic. But in the back of my mind, I want to think that someone taught her a lesson.....see, THAT amuses me.

A co-worker had twins and sent some more pictures yesterday. I decided I want a baby, not to continue my lineage, but to dress up. Some say a pet would fill this void. I think a baby would be funnier.

Now granted, I have not read EVERY article that has come out about this - I don't have the time. But from what I have read and heard, I don't see why this didn't happen 5 or 6 years ago. OKAY......so now, I am HOOOOOOOOOKED on myspace. I check it all the fucking time. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME? It's like a bottomless Cosmo, and I can't get enough. I feel like a giddy little school girl. Good Lord, help me. But a couple of things about this myspace....

1 - I don't know a thing about this Tom. What happens if I don't make him my friend? Will he mess with my account? He's got to be too busy to do that, but still.....

2 - Folks, sexyback by Justin Timberlake is a good enough song. But SOOOO many people have it when you check out their profile. I suppose it's better than hearing the Macarena every time, but still......

3 - WHY do women from foreign countries want to be my friend? If you are looking for a husband, you are sooooo barking up the wrong tree......

Oh, and I survived the first week of kickball. We lost, but damn, it was fun. And yours truly kicked himself a home run and was MVP for week 1. Not bad for a fat old man.....not bad at all.........

I'm still trying to figure out why the hell I agreed to do this. However, I am now on a kickball team through work. I used to WORSHIP kickball as a child......about 35 years ago. So this will be very interesting to say the least.....

So I saw LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE on Sunday with the new roomie, who had already seen it. This movie kicks ass. It is hysterical and moving and wonderfully executed. All the performances are well crafted. SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!! SEE IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stuff to do....stuff to do.......places to see.....people to do.....please.....

There is a meeting/rehearsal for the Isben show remount in Sept. Saturday should be busy. I MUST do laundry now that the heatwave has broken. Plus, there is/are Market Days (Sunday as well). Then drinks Saturday night with the FIORELLO crew. Then the new roomie moves some stuff over on Sunday. And possibly more Market Days or more laundry or something.......

I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together.......

Well, the roomies are gone. I am relieved. They are relieved. A previous post was read. There was a big discussion. In the end, it all worked out beautifully. Everyone is happy. Life is good. More on this later.
